Absolutely spot on Ocka! It went from beauty to the beasts! How come the females in your group are so attractive and the men of questionable genetic makeup??. I suppose I'd fit in then. And what's with the squat at 3.57 DJ? Quick dump before arrival? I'm looking to buy the 12'6" Fanatic wood(Fly) for flatwater and hopefully try a Down winder before I die. Happy Easter.....eggs.

Hopefully next week?? Gotta love school holidays. I'll keep an eye on conditions and this forum! I'm going to RPS next week to find out a little more about purchasing a "wood". Happy Supping DJ!!

Hey Kath you girls are getting better and better.. It took me quite a while to even catch you and Anne on that day.. Moving your feet is not as easy as it sounds.. For most of us who are not regular surfers your feet feel like they are glued down and even small movements seem impossible but the more you try it the easier it gets.. Staying in the parallel stance while surfing a runner is very hard to do and feel very awkward.. That's when we fall the most.. I don't know how the guys in the deep dug-outs can do it.. But I guess they have to.. Sometimes I force myself to do it thinking it will increase my glide by not steppeing back and although it's do'able it's very off-putting.. It's kinda like riding a skateboard with your feet parallel and side by side.. Not easy.. You don't need to go into the full wide surfing stance.. Just going lightly staggered will help heaps.. Even stepping back slightly with your rear foot while paddling for the runner is good to do so at that moment when the board starts to plane you already have a staggered stance and this helps you to not fall back as you get that feeling like someone has pulled the rug out from underneath you as the board takes off.. Watching my feet in my vids might also help..

We usually all meet at the finishing place and load onto a couple of cars.. Then drive to the start.. Then once we are at the end of the DW run most can just head off home.. and someone heading back in the direction of the start can give those who drove to the start a lift back to their cars.. Pretty easy really.
