I've only tested my 9.2 Speeed twice and had to use gloves for the cold temperatures that we have here now.
I had no problems using 2 mm gloves lifting the handle and lifting my board, there once was a lot off sand on top off my board from playing dogs next to it and sand in the handle, but no problems using it.
I had a SIC once and sure it's a good handle as wel but I have no problems using the lift up handle and do not understand why it should a problem for a longer downwind board.
If you enter races where you have to run in en out the water, thats where I understand that the SIC handle might be better, but you can Always use the stick on way and get a handle where ever you want it to be.
Back on track I like the looks of the wood construction, But I'm f@cked for life after using SIC for downwinds, this nose is not for me, I'm into the V4 SIC but went over to the dark side and into a surfski for downwinding .
