Help me Mornington Pen. crew. For family reasons I'll be on your coast this weekend and by looking at the weather I'm figuring there might be some fun waves on Sat/Sun ...Now I don't know the locations at all -- and I'm hoping you advise me the 3 best options...is it mid morning high tide? 1 more sup won't hurt the line up!

There's 15-20 different breaks between Pt Leo and Flindes to choose from that should be ok on the w/e with the westerly winds forcast.

Mid to high tide is best with high being around 11am.

Western Port Bay can be fun even when it's small.

You often get the odd sneaky bigger set that comes out of nowhere and catches you out.

Like this one yesterday..

Ha.. .. Yeah.. Constant little knee high waves then out of nowhere comes an overhead set.

We waited about an hour after that set for another.. But got nothing..

Based on the winds, it looks like your best bet is gonna be Pt Leo, Pines or any of the little points you can paddle to from Pines.

Super-easy launch locations as well.

Wow. what a great day you guys had.

I want to share a dream with you. I want to swap places with Phil Trigger and live down in Western Port Bay when I'm 50, and just pop in for a surf on those sort of days. I'm sure Phil will do fine with the software integrations I'm working on.

Great videos as always DJ.

My bet is that there was a tanker coming through that caused that perfect ripple.

Thanks.. Looking forward to getting some waves again with you.

It might have been a tanker but I didn't see one.. Pretty odd two wave set out of nowhere.

btw.. Phil Trigger has just had a hip replacement but that hasn't stopped him one bit.. Got some nice waves with him recently and he has this cool move where he paddles onto a wave by heading out and turning on the face to catch it.. He's got it down pat.. It's like the old jibe onto the face windsurfing move.
