Welcome to the 'breeze, Murraymeg!
Bigger boards are not my specialty but two thoughts crossed my mind.
Do you run into many hard objects on the river? If so you could look at an inflatable.
Also, anything that size would float you without any issues, but many of the guidelines you read are aimed at salt water. You are less buoyant in fresh water.
What were you renting? What size suited you the most? What did you have most fun on? That would be my starting point.
And this site has a buy & sell section so you could take a look at what is available. I am not familiar with the brands you mentioned, but anything 32" or wider and longer than 10' long should be fine at your height and weight and experience.
Thanks for the welcome #cantSUPenough ????
There is not a great deal of stuff floating in the river that you can't normally see, just the odd one under that you can't. I didn't even think of the inflatables. Maybe worth a look.
I have been using a NSP 11' which has been good, would just prefer my own so I can go whenever, not having to worry about when the hire guy goes out.
I have been googling a few but no luck as yet. I will have a look on the but swap section and see if I can find anything. Have been reading a few of the posts on here to gauge something but just need to get some advice, learnerSUP but loving it ????
