No rums last night ,so I was up earlyLooked at coastal watch liked what I saw and headed south with SUP and longboard in tow! Once I found a bloody car park I checked the crowd out (thousands) so there was no way the SUP was going to get wet there, mainly because I am just not up to that yet!
The longboard gets wet for some 2 - 3 footers perfect weather and the surf was glass the tide was dropping by the minute, scored some long long rides over two hours and decided to head north for a SUP,can't let it feel un wanted Paddled for about two hours and this guy starts asking me questions,so I said mate have a go,He said are you for real,I said get on it mateHe paddled for around 15 minutes, came back and said,THAT'S IT where can I buy one, another newie coming to a place near you soon Hope you don't mind

Just got home the crickets on,got a party tonight so I might have a couple on rums to get in the swing of things!

I like your style Mac! I often offer my board to interested onlookers. There's more than enough coastline to share.

The problem up here on the GC is the crowds are doubling
by the week, time to check out to a small coastal town

I think Stuey's advise was best on what to do with the $950 - makes sense to me. Maybe, use the wasted $50 to hire a board to help you recover.

Spend $900 on alcohol, drugs and hookers and waste the other $50........

Interesting thought just came to me about Snapper and the "superbank".

I remember when Kirra used to work, the wave at Greenmount would have been a SUP paradise. Long rides, reforms and a SUP would have been able to make the most of the whole break. Oh please lets see the return of Kirra, the return of the other south Goldy breaks would be a great thing as well.

Might be a little off topic but oh well.

how's that, as soon as someone starts asking me questions, i do the same. pass them the paddle and say here you go... the too cool for school guys all baulk and pass, but heaps of others jump at the chance. i got stuck on some juniors 4'11" the other day for way longer than i wanted to because the little upstart wouldn't give my sup back.
everyone who has a go brings i back to me with a smile on their face

thats right a 4' 11", when i sat on it, my head and neck were just out of the water
