Hey all, Please excuse my ignorance on the matter but I have recently purchased a second hand board and paddle and am having a great time but the paddle I have is a GSI glass paddle (Which works fine so far)and the handle was not correctly attached. After the first couple of times I took it out I realised that the handle was loose and when I pulled on it, it came right out and just had some gaffer tape wrapped around the shaft of the handle and shoved into the shaft of the paddle. I took the tape off and cleaned it and used flexible waterproof liquid nails to put it back together but that is coming loose. I am not sure as I have never seen the inside shaft of a brand new handle but I think the first owner has shaved the handle shaft down a bit and without the tape around it, it is loose within the paddle shaft. What does everybody use as I know shafts are cut to size so most everybody must do this?? Please help as apart from this, I am having so much fun and want to stay out longer.

Welcome to the Breeze jaydub1973... Most of us use 5 minute Araldite..(5 minute epoxy glue)

If you use the 5 minute stuff rather than the full strength stuff you can unglue it later if you need to by heating it up with a hair dryer.

This post might also help.. www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=39056&SearchTerms=cutting,a,carbon,paddle
