This can be a touchy topic!!!

In this case Suplove means respect for the community and enviroment and the joy of sharing the ocean. Suplove's core values and vision.

I like your core values , just not the brand name.Like someone said on another thread i could see it appealing to the estrogen crew though.Maybee have two board names suplove for the girlies , and something like the supextreme for the blokes

I wish you all the best with your product but I think you have a name problem when you couldn't mention it to your friends without cringing.

To you it may mean that, but the general perception is, that you love your sup. And the perception is the reality.

Personally, the name creeps me right out, and I wouldn't buy a board with that written on it. I'd be doing some market research with your target market and really consider changing the name.

Actually, thinking about it more... I'd hold a competition on Seabreeze for a new name and giving the winner a board.

I'd like to know who you guys think you are having a shot at someone else's name ?

If you don't like it, tough ****. It's not for you to like.

They liked it when they set the business up and it has meaning to them which is all that matters as the product, work and profit are their issues not yours.

Always quick to have a go at others but very slim in positivity and IMO SUPLOVE implies a positive reflection of our sport.....ie, loving the sport of stand up.

Get a grip guys. Actually, get a life.

Personally I don't mind the name - really don't care what label is on the board so long as it's a good board and the two suplove boards that I have paddled so far are good boards so no complaints at all here.

Ah , i think it is for us to like or not like , we are potential customers.I dont think anyone sets up a buisness not to attaract customers. Some will love the name , i think the majority wouldnt. Its got nothing to do with having ago at others but giving some feedback. If the brand is working for them great , if its not then a name change may help. The feedback they have got from the few who have bothered to post is mainly negative towards the name , now thats great feedback if you ask me.If it was my board buisness i would be listening.

Fatcs are most blokes like blokey sounding things , theirs a reason a Ferrari wasnt called a pussycat

Exactly right Teatrea. I think we all want to see Australian made products do well. I've also said previously, that the shapes look great and the price looks very competitive a few days ago.

I also believe Suplove are unsure of their brand name - you just have to look at the opening sentence to work that out.

If they think the name is a touchy topic, maybe it needs to be changed.

I quite like the name "ISup" - it's got a good ring to it.

What you talkin 'bout BB?

I'm Australian, and wherever possible, I like to buy Australian products. I don't think that's a difficult concept to get your head around - is it?

You said you like to support australian made - I was just wondering why you were relating that to the suplove boards ?

And mac - how's the psh going ?

I assumed they were a small Australian family company, designing and handcrafting boards in Australia - that's what their "about us" page says. And I also believe they have been contributing to this forum for some time.

www.suplove.com/pages/about_us.html

Suplove began life as Sydney Australia's first accredited Stand Up Paddle training company.
...
Suplove own a small manufacturing facility producing only Suplove Stand Up Paddle boards. We hand shape every single Suplove board. This set up is unique and mostly unheard of in the SUP industry.

Maybe you know something I don't - please enlighten.

I've no idea where they are made - I am just happy to support anyone that is genuinely supporting the growth of the sport in australia in an ethical way and this company seems to be trying hard to do that. I don't represent their boards in any way - I have just tried the boards and I like them so I don't mind saying so. I just don't like getting back to the aust made vs imports discussion again because I believe there are both good and bad home grown and imported products.

I reckon if suplove renamed their boards to "personality dissorder" they would capture a much bigger market on Seabreeze.

Right onIm still trying to work out which of my personalities dont like the name.
The metrosexual in me really likes it , i feel in tune with my feminie side just thinking about it.

Seriousley Suplove is getting some good airplay out of this , i hope they appreciate it

That program on SBS "Strange Love - Married the Eiffel Tower" had a lasting impact on me. Suplove conjurers up the extremes in human deviant behavior.

Even if I never saw that program, the idea of carrying a board to my local with those words plastered on it, would make me feel like a freak.

Product unseen.... If they change the name. I will be the first to put my money where my mouth is and buy one.
