I love this question... it keeps popping up !

The "T" is missing....

"Battle of the Paddle", get's an abbreviation into BOP ! (A SUP Race!)

But don't worry, before a point in time, BOP didn't exist...

(someone loves me dearly !! Red thumb for passing on info on a forum )

In some other sports BOP stands for Back Of the Pack , and is used the same vein as MOP (Middle Of Pack) but in Standup it is indeed Battle Of the Paddle

No, MOP is ALWAYS "Master of Puppets".
Mind you, I usually refer to that as Muppets.
