Beautiful day on the northern beaches this morning. launched from Jammo to paddle down to my folks place on Ocean St to say gidday. Wind was pretty light but under Pittwater Rd bridge seemed to be north so I thought sweet, a free ride back.
By the time I got back to Wimbledon Island it was NW at 20 knots. I tried to paddle upwind into it to get back to my wagon but for every 3 strokes I reckon I made 3 inches.
**** that, got about 500 metres and knew I had no hope.
Let the wind push me around, took 2 strokes and kept jumping back on my board (14' Fanatic) and just surfed the runners back to the beach. Walked back to my car, that was fun!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its good to be a newbie sometimes.
