Hey everyone, is there anyone SUP in Hervey Bay? Up here there is no surf so was wondering if it's possible to just buy a paddle to use with my old mini mal? I'm quite tall so would this mean I'd need a bigger board. I kite and paddle outriggers so imagine I should be able to pick up OK. Any advice would be great. Cheers, Heffs.

Hi Heffs,
Couple of questions - How long is your mini mal? What is your height and weight? This will determine any advice given.
Distance paddling is great fun and exercise on SUP's so I'm sure you'll have a ball.

Hi Heffs,

Almost in any case from beginner through to expert you'll find the minimum width is 28" with at least 4" thickness in the board. Any smaller and you'll struggle.

First time out it would be best to head towards boards bigger than 10' x 28" x 4" as that is considered on the small and high performance side.

All the best,

Sam.
