Hi and welcome.. I'm thinking don't go smaller than 10' long x 30" wide.

Boards like the Starboard 10' Whopper.. Naish 10' Mana.. and Coreban 10' Ez would be good.

What conditions will you be using it in?

It starts out that way...within a few months you'll be looking for the monster waves & looking at a smaller board!

Also agree on the 30" wide min. (from experience.)

Haha that maybe the case but going too small to start off is a bad idea isn't it?

I just started (came from windsurfing and kiting) am 92kg and about 6'1

I picked up a second hand Naish Mana 10ft with 32" width.

Great allrond board for paddling about and catches small waves with ease.

More width means more stability but also look at where the volume is distributed with different boards as this affects the stability too.

The 10ft is a great all rounder though and catches crappy little half foot waves when I can be bothered.

Highly reccomend the Mana!
