Having a surf this morning at the Alley in 1/2 foot waves and was dropped in on by a motorised surfboard.

Not only was this guy lying down with his hands on the deck whilst catching the wave, but he got to his feet in the pooman stance and motored along in front of me doing no turns after dropping in blatantly.

Why would you even bother??? I straightened up and shook my head in disbelief.



Hope this isn't the future of surfing.

There's a guy here in Cronulla with one.

Out one day on the beaches carving snowboard like arcs on big 6 foot faces way out and pulling out as the beasts approached the surfers.

Was amazing to watch and he went from break to break with such speed.

Not my thing but visualise a snowboarder drawing beautiful lines on powder and replace it with mountains of water and that's about what it was.

Apparently Maritime are chasing him though and want him off the water. I believe his is a custom 6 HP Diesel.

...his skill a far cry from your experience so it seems.

... or just old!! Think I will get one when I can no longer paddle - just so I can still enjoy the stoke of being on the water/gliding down a wave.
