Hi All,

My partner and I are new to paddleboarding. We are wondering if you have any suggestions of nice quiet spots to go around sydney. We are heading out Narrabeen way tomorrow but aren't sure of any good spots other than that. Any suggestions would be great!

Pittwater is close to Narrabeen and is excellent in virtually all weather conditions. The foreshore from Mona Vale to Church Point has good access for paddling and car parking. I would launch from Winnererremy Bay at Mona Vale - access from Mona Street.

Narrabeen Lakes is excellent for learning as there's no swell or boat washes (OK, sometimes you get buzzed by the local groms…) and you can find a sheltered spot in pretty much any wind. Rentals there too if you need.

Pittwater is also excellent as NTAA mentioned. Try further up Pittwater as well, Clareville, Careel Bay and the Pittwater side of Palm Beach are good spots too.

Manly offers up some good paddling too but it can have a lot of boats etc around. Try the paddle from Little Manly around to Collins Flat and Store Beach.

See you on the water!

there is always Balmoral beach, plenty of parking through the week & plenty of things to see on the way.

You can head up towards the spitt bridge or out into the harbour depending on the weather and boats around

Check out the blog www.supinthecity.com.au which reviews heaps of sup sites around Sydney and is especially geared towards beginners. Have fun!
