The Honolua Stand Up Paddle (S.U.P) Challenge, running on 22-23 November 2008, and is open to all stand up paddlers.

Honolua Surf Co presents the second annual ultimate SUP challenge. 2 disciplines will crown this year's champion. There is $1500 prizemoney and all competitors receive a Honolua contest tee, an xcel vent x vest and honolua surf cap upon entry.

There are 2 disciplines; SUP race and SUP surfing competition format. Surfing result carries double weighting for overall position. 48 max field. The same board must be used for both disciplines.

A BBQ will be held after the final in the park so stick around!

Prize Money breakdown: 1st $500, 2nd $300, 3rd $200, 4th $100 and $200 for the surfing winner and $200 for the race winner.

Currumbin Alley will provide the ideal arena for the nation's best stand up paddlers to showcase their freakish talents.

I just realized that the same board must be used for both surf and race.. I wonder how good the Glide will go in the waves?..

Will try and get some pics but i won't get there later in the day, as i will have to WORK! Pretty much most of the goldie crew are in it, look like it could be a windy NE aswell, that will prove interesting.
