No, it definitely ain't me, & it's not even someone of the same gender
Reef breaks south of Cott groyne had a few nice little waist-high waves yesterday. Coldest morning since last September so pulled my 3/2 steamer on when I went out at 8.30am.
9.30ish saw a French girl (from Reunion Island) surfing out there in her bikini
Air temperature was around 13, water temperature about 17, 90% of the surfers are in steamers, a few in either short arms or short legs!!! She's the only surfer out there without a wettie on. Even Mike Galvin (Starboard sup team) had his Radiator rashie on, & he never falls off (well, almost never).
She was ripping on a mal on her backhand (she's a goofy), and yes, she's gorgeous. Sorry boys, no photos

yeah, but you guys all wear 4/3's. And I've seen lots of hoods, gloves & booties in the photos.
Come over & surf Perth in your boardies in winter, I dare you
Lot of the guys in Margaret River wear steamers in summer too, & it ain't that cold (I was out south of Margs in my springie in March, quite pleasant).

Two days ago I was SUP'ing Bells, no bikini....a 43...but no hood...big mistake!
A violent hail storm came over, it would have to be one of the most painfull experiences I've had, wind chill probably below zero, with ice at 50kts, I was sure the head was going end up with the texture of a golf ball!
Being off shore in that wind it was not quick getting to the cliffs, I suffered!

I saw a little bit about that hail storm on the news, some places in Torquay had hail inches thick on the ground!

But those freak conditions aside, its still no that cold that you'd need to be wearing a hood in regular conditions, or even booties if you are prone surfing IMO
