Well we did our own version of Wife Swap today at OG.
Revvin turned up with his trusty Kalama on the roof, but it stayed there! He grabbed the PSH 10'6WAAand came out to have some fun. Rich turned up with his PSH9'6WRipper and I was on the PSH9'6AA.
Well that was when the fun started!
Revvin and I swapped boards and he caught his first wave ever on the 9'6WAA. you should have seen the look on his face! It said I have gone from 11'6 to 9'6 in one day look! Revvin was so stoked.
Kristi and I were hooting and hollaring him onto waves and he just had a ball. He didnt want to use up too many brownie points so he headed off.
Rich and I later swapped boards and I was on the 9'6WAA. Well in short it was a task. I found it easy enough to paddle but I have to say with the fat small OG slop today it was near impossible for me to get a wave on the ripper!
Then it appeared, my only hope in the distance a clean as glass 2fter. I let it build tilted the board up in the face and dropped in. Well I thought the 9'6WAA was loose, the ripper is a whole new game. I ripped a huge bottom turn the hit the lip hard before I even knew it happened. I did a couple of nice reos and then it petered out.
That was the only wave I caught on the ripper but wow what a board. It a short amount of time I coud easily paddle that board but it would be seriously hard work!
We had an awesome day 5 hours had taken its toll so SurfeeChick and I took off for home for a refuel and a Nanna Nap PMSL.
