I have been looking at a Hydra amphibious water relaunchable kite with the idea of using it with my Starboard 10' 5" Drive.
I reckon the term "downwinder" would really apply with this combination.
Has anyone on the Breeze tried this and was it successful?
I have already posted on the kite site and had no luck.
The Hydra is only 3.5 metres so really kindergarden stuff for the kite boys but I wonder if the added length of a SUP would provide a decent ride
Thanks

How sad would that be. Move all the way over here to get away from the wind, then find I love kiting. Naaah.

looks pretty good to me,putting one on my short list of things to get.Im no expert on kites but have an inflatable 3mtr thats just about stuffed and will definately be going for ram air next time.[buggy.landboard and sup use]

Tell me more Pirrad. Have you tried towing your SUP with the inflatable 3 metre?. I wonder if you could get up enough speed to tack back up wind?

By the way, for any martinets out there I know this is a standup PADDLE site but this is SUPB related

My 3mtr best grunt has enough power to body drag me at 95kg [15-20 KNTS]but i dont know if the inflatable would generate the same amount of power, try this question in the buggy-landboarding section as this type of kite is commonly used.It would depend a bit as well to the wind strength you intend to go out in,less than 10 knts and the 3mtr might not be big enough,my guess would be around 5-7 mtr,the three would work ok in say 15 knts but would you be out in +15 knts on a SUP?
EDIT;my SUPing at the moment is limited to an old wally windsurf board, its a bit tippy at the best of times and only used when flat and no wind.
