Hi, I thought I would post this here for anyone down this way that may not know about it.
Or if you are thinking of coming down for a session.

Enjoy.

Cheers

thanks gav, this is interesting, but on face value I am a bit concerned. Point danger already gets pretty crowded, and having a cam focused on the point as per your linked post would mean that everyone will know what it's like, and the uncrowded days are likely to be fewer and further between. There's already a camera at Torquay surf (800m away) club and juc, which I think is already too much. Danger just doesn't need any more exposure, and its so easy to check it from the car anyway.

I'm probably ona hiding to nothing here, but I'm old school and reckon if you can't make a call based on the forecasts and sticking your head out the window, then bad luck. Soon we'll have a wake up call service in case someone has a sleep in and misses the early.

Could we just leave it at the weather station on the saling club please?

I hear your concerns Tang.

The cam idea was really to see if the break was working for Wave sailing & Kiting surfing.
Where it is not too much of an issue if there are a few few out and I personally feel it makes it more fun and you get inspired seeing others out doing loops etc.

Its different if you are all chasing the same green pocket.

But, there is a huge cost implication to implement a cam system.
Especially the one I want with presets and user control.
So, probably won't happen.

The cam and station benefits those who are too far check "out the window or from the carpark".

Maybe we set it so the cam only starts working at +20 knots?.

No worries gav, I watch the sailors out a fair bit (can't do it thanks to my back) and can see the buzz in everyone being out, and see you understand the other side of the coin. I reckon that 20kt switch could have legs!
