Does anybody have experience windsuping a starboard 8'5 29 pro?
After being surfing for 27 years and suping for 2 years I would like to ocasionally wind surf (not try from the moment), so I am looking for a new board with windsurf mast insert. Nowadays I surf a hokua 9'6 but I need a smaller and more maneurable board, and it is time to try windsurf, so the 8'5 pro ast silver could be an option. I will sup 90% of the days and ocasionally I will make a tour with the sail.
try AHD SEALION 7.7 135liters from 0 to 15 knots...www.sealion.ahd-boards.com 100%funboard for sup or windsurf wave!but i am not sure were to find one here in australia..i will like to buy one for my self!!!
I did not try it but I've read something about the sealion. It looks great for windsurfing but not so for suping. I'm looking for a surf sup and have the possibilty to use it with a sail in breeze days
if u havent windsurfed much i think youll struggle on the 8'5 x29 pro - id go for the 9'0 x 30 converse if u want a crossover board - not as loose as the 8'5 but still heaps of performance for a board this size and much more useable wave range..if u still want an 8'5 crossover board go the pocket rocket - more stable for windsurfing if you dont have a lot of windsurfing experience - apologies if you do !
Goes a treat. used it up north in what would have been a nothing day. Small and bugger all wind. Put on a 5.0 and had a ball. But I'm biased obviously:)

Scotty,
You tried the 2012 8'0" Pro doing the same?
No mast foot insert in 8'0" size sadly. Would be fun for sure if they did.
