Any recommendations on a good pair of wetsuit boots for winter and where to get them in Melbourne. Tips of my toes are getting very sore from the amount of time I'm spending in the water this winter...Have a pair from my windsurfing days 20 -25 years ago....not doing much good. Need to use them for both sup and ski...

Cheers

Zaks at 307 Victoria St Thornbury. Top bloke, and so is his in store manager. I bought some fins for my 9'2"Allwave from him. Transformed the board so that I can hang in on the face in really hollow waves. I wear 2mm O Neill reef Shoes cause they're light and still give great feel on the board. Not particularly warm though maybe a thicker pair of something similar. He had a huge range of everything!! He usually is very competetive with pricing. Tip don't go if the surf's good, they won't be there!!

Be sure to get the type that have split toe (gives noticeably better balance than without split toe).

I would buy in a shop, rather than online - with boots, you really want to know they fit properly.

Yep faito anto is correct on both counts, forgot to mention the split toe,and I always use the same boot so know my sizing.

Xcel Infiniti with "Dry-lock". Hands down (or is that feet down) the best I've ever had for Melbourne...especially early mornings and chilly downwinders. Trigger Bros in Frankston usually have 'em. I wear the 5mm, 3mm also available.

Lots of cheap stuff out there......accidentally (they were cheap on trade me) got a pair that were a couple of sizes too small for me a couple of years ago. Had to do the Cinderella thing each time I put them on but still wearing them....they are tuff! My new ones are the right size though

No boots required. Haven't worn a wettie so far this year.

Hey SSSimon didn't you read the recent posts about skin checks. Yeah you are right have to have it done regularly and not much fun sometimes. But comes from 30 years ago when no one knew any better. Sun screen didn't exist and there was no such thing as wet shirt.
Bet Canberra is cold at the moment!
Cheers ET.

I reckon that'd feel like a pool that some kids have pissed in.

Excel drylock Infiniti 3mm....feet were dry and toasty all paddle. Makes a difference especially when you first step in the water and you don't feel the chill. Cheers guys for all your advice...
