There I was, a perfect reef break all to myself. Lots of clean set waves and pleasant little grinders in between. A nice reform in the inside and gaps in the shorebreak to paddle back out. A sea eagle glides straight over my head and some seals cruise by out the back. The sun is shining and I can do no wrong.
The other half returns from a walk up the beach and sits on a rock to watch my style. The set waves disappear. The grovellers thicken up and get hard to catch. An offshore breeze pushes me back off the lip time and time again.
She get's bored and heads back to the cabin. As soon as she clears the beach the sets return. The wind drops off. I am back into rhythm and getting the best rides of the day.
She's obviously a witch. I need to tie her to a shortboard and throw her into the sea. If she sinks she's not a witch. If she floats then she gets burned at the stake. Anybody got an old paddle I can use for a stake? [}:)]
Classic

So true though as soon as they go for a walk the sets come

They never see your good waves !
