A bit of wooden surfboard porn. There's a flat water SUP about half way down.

wow nice board scott , how many hours did that take you , what timbers did you use?

They had a timber board showcase up here on the Goldy a week or so back and i was blown away by some of the boards.

Cheers

Lovely board Scott. How much does it weigh?

Years ago I made a 10' sailboard out of red cedar ply. I thought it weighed a ton but it was probably not that much more than a production SUP.

Current construction techniques are similar to what I used but I can see ways to avoid some of the mistakes I made.

WH, What are the dimension of your board? Are wooden SUP dim. similar to foam/EPS SUP board dim? What is the weight too?

Hi Crew
Thanks very much for the compliments. It's a Hollow wooden SUP done in paulownia and western red cedar. The dry weight without glass and epoxy was 10kg. I recon about 15kgs when finished. 10 inch finbox. 4oz top and bottom with an extra 4oz patch on the deck. She is 6mm bead and cove strips glued together with poly glue. She was planned at 11'6 but with tail and nose blocks came in a tad longer. true dimensions are 11'9 x 281/2 x 41/2. The volume is about 170ltrs or 480 beers if that makes more sense. in total about a 10 weeks from start to finish if I had a clear run at it. I should have it in the water next week so I am busting to get it done.
Cheers Scott
