6 months ago I started to put together a crew with a minimum age of 40 who all had a background in stand up paddle surfing to film the "Worlds First"
stand up paddle surfing movie "Living The Stoke". it's a good mix of mates with no ego's. There will be a few Seabreezers going including Dale Chapman , Lobes , Bspot & Tankman plus Glen “Rocky" Rawlings from channel 9 will be our head film co-coordinator.

The whole vibe of the film will be to showcase the beautiful surroundings of PNG and introduce stand up paddle surfing to the PNG people and where possible
distribute some clothes and basic school needs to the local kids, this won’t be a hard core surf film, although we do have some very good riders, it will be more a surf travel experience with a bunch of mates mixing in with the locals and sharing the stoke.

The Surf Travel company have come on board taking us to different surf camps all in very remote 3rd world areas of PNG. We will also be the first surfers to
access the new surf areas. Access has been organized to one of the schools for our handouts & local villagers and dancers from surrounding islands will be performing a Sing Sing and series of dances which should provide some incredible authentic footage.

The water footage will be very creative as we take advantage of the crystal clear water and film through the back of waves. There will also be an original soundtrack written a narrated by “Kings of The Sun” lead singer and score writer Jeff Hoad plus there will be a nice mix of local PNG tunes.

This is a poster of the movie and one of our latest 50/50 water shots. We leave soon on the 31st of Oct, the movie will release in Jan 2010.

W00P! So excited can't wait!

We will have a mad time and get some great footage and shots. Kavieng has so much to offer from the beautiful natural locations with jungle running down to coral reefs and the rich local culture including the famous Duk Duk fire dancers and mystical shark callers.

Piros please tell me those two are coming as well

i heard you have tricked it out so it fires in multiple blasts/semi auto

Yeah we got the staple gun for doing our own stitches, plus needle and thread sutures, the reef is pretty sharp in places and we might come home with a few reef tattoos

The fishing reports we have been getting are all time as well so we plan to do a shoot chasing Wahoo & GT'S act on the stand up..... I reckon that’ll be pretty funny getting towed around.

I'm a great fan of superglue as a sutures substitute - although I'm not sure how it goes in continual saltwater dunkings (but maybe just wrap it up for this part of the procedure).

So.... we always pack (hardware store is fine) superglue in our first aid kit (don't get it in your eye but). Works a treat for many of the less serious, clean (needs skin to skin purchase), cuts.

Forgive me if I'm stating the obvious but make sure you pack lots of sun-protection as well. Kavieng is only a stones throw from the equator and the sun here is super hot.

Surf caps, long sleeve rashies, couple of pairs of cheapo sunglasses and lots and lots of SPF+ cream and Zinc for ya exposed bits.

Six months ago Rob talked to me about a trip to PNG. He was telling me about all the surf breaks and how good the surf is in PNG, And all the places we would be visiting, it sounded to good to be true! I check out all the place he was talking about on the net and it all looked fantastic ,the ultimate surfing safari with a bunch of great mates. I'm looking forward to being there and taking lot's and lot's of photos and riding some excellent surf . The boy's have been talking to me about the reef breaks as I have never surfed a reef break. Sounds like a real adrenaline pump, surfing over reef 1 foot under the water surface, also very scary !!!!
For the trip I bought a 10 ft X 34 inches Starboard whopper with candy beck grip (I'm a big fella)
it's a great board and I'm excited about surfing it in testing conditions. All the gear from Von Piros productions it great they just purchase a new 7D Canon camera, which is the latest camera from Canon. With a top speed of 8 frames per second, it's going to be great for all the cut backs and shack shots. It also takes HD video !! how good is that!!! Von Piros also has a 5D mark 2 camera from Canon which has a 24 megapixel censor, so you can imagine how good the photos will look blown up to poster size. Over the last 3 to 4 month we have been busy writing and drawing the story board, and it all looks and sounds sensational !!! I now have only 6 sleeps to go before we board the plane to PNG, you can all imagine just how excited I am. I'm like a little kid all wound up on red cordial!!!
So thanks to all the people at seabreeze who have wished us well.
I going to have another valium and try to get so sleep before we leave

Homeally, Another Whopper lover !!!
I will post pictures and write you a revue about my whopper journey in PNG . I've brought 6 cheap fins in anticipation of ripping a lot out of the board , I just hope I don't rip up the Whopper. Thanks for your well (Swell) wishes

LOL not at all.The sequel is already in motion all I can say it will be somewhere very remote in the Pacific , the boys at the Surf Travel Company have lined us to be the first into this new area.more on that later.

"Living The Stoke" will be very Sup lifestyle orientated the sequel we plan to take a couple of young chargers and throw them in the mix.
