After recently selling my latest version 3 Glide to make way for a new 2015 DW board I was back on my old version 2 Glide.. After being on my 29" wide Cadillac I was a little worried about going back to my old shape 27" wide Glide.. It was howling 30-35 knots with gusts way above that and it was fun, fun, fun with surfing at full speed almost the whole way.. Didn't have a fall so I was very happy with myself..

Was that clip taken with your old GoPro?
Quality not quite as crisp.
Thinking of upgrading my HD Hero to a black or silver.
Wondering if I'll notice the difference.
Record at 720p 60.

Mate, if you work, can you please get me a job there.

I think I would love the flexible hours and ability to paddle everyday.

Same GoPro2 that I always use.. But I had fogging and even slight fogging kills the quality.

I found a big difference in quality going from the original HD Hero to the GoPro2.. I'd love to upgrade to a new Silver or Black GoPro3

I work shift work (late afternoon-evenings) so I do get to paddle most days..

Is the new board going to be a 2015 Javelin LE 14'x28" GS per chance???

Yes.. Sort of.. 14'x28" Jav.. I think they do it in an LE and a GX.. I went for the cheaper GX.. Same shape I think..

The Naish guys are all raving about it.. I'm a bit worried about that Toucan shape nose and those sharp rails near the nose when downwinding.. I guess if I don't like it I'll be looking for another 29'' wide Glide..

Nice but I doubt the 30-35 knots as the waves are way too gentle.

GoPro's have that effect.. .. We were on the water between 10.30 - 12 .. you can see a gust at the start that's about 37 knots.

I found surprisingly no issues with the sharpness of the rail, had more issues with the original 14' Glide before they softened it a bit.
I also found the 2015 Jav better in the shorter sharper bay type runners than the 2014 which preferred the larger stuff.
Basically If I lived in Maui I would stick to the 2014 Jav But I think the 2015 is more suited to 80% of our conditions.

Probably a good idea Lenn if you want one of the first batch.
First to arrive will be the LE models then the 28" GX with the 26" GX coming later.

That's what i meant!

I was looking forward to testing one this weekend - my local shop has them in to demo - but looks like SWMBO has other ideas on how to spend my time at the weekend...

Still, a little reluctant to try one as i might just like it too much and want to upgrade from my 4 month old Glide...

No Idea of the UK prices but expect $3,000 for GX and $4,000 for LE in Oz.

The GX is a lighter construction than previous GX models.

This years 2014 14' x 28'' Giide GX was about 2,800 and the new 2015 14' x 28'' Jav GX will be about 2,900.. here in Oz.

Sorry.. that should have been.. This years 2014 14' x 29'' Giide GX was about 2,800… [29'' not 28'' doh..]

I thik this board will stay next year but in the cheaper/heavier GS version.

I spoke to a guy who just returned from Maui who Downwinded in a fairly solid swell on the new LE 28 and he loved it. (He does sell Naish and other brands of boards)
The other comment he made on more than one occasion was that on flat water the board had "instant speed".
I was convinced to the extent that I'm going to have to get one, even though they are certainly not cheap.
First shipment may be late August ?

Thanks guys. Glad to see that Naish have kept a lid on annual price increases. If we get those prices in the UK then they will be very competitive indeed with the other main brands.
