SUP Vic is not for profit and I'm assuming the other associations are set up the same way. Not sure if that is what you mean though?

Hey Mike,

I am a youthworker with Kempsey Family Support Service and we are going to run programs for marginalised young people. We should be up and running early in the new year, just waiting for the boards to be made.I will be doing a full story on here as soon as we are started to sing the praises of the many great people in the industry that have made this possible.
If I can help in anyway let me know,

Hey Clarky ,
I'm doing the same next year at my school for sport.
What do you reckon....inter-school comp?.Teacher vs teacher, student vs student.
Your probably scared now , reckon you guys are a chance against the mighty reds.
Might even invite Parko or Mick back for a demo on a SUP!!

Your on waz, Tim willgoose was telling me that Billy Watson was a past student from Miami, We'll have to see if we can get him in for a expression session. Had a quick chat with Jacko at the roar comp and we were talking dollars for hiring their boards, maybe we should pool our money together and share a quiver of boards as were on different days. Or now that your a fully fledged board manufacturer you could pump out a few rad sticks.

hi

iam a sup monitor and i would like to make a project that involves basically sup and children...

taking it as a long term project and seeing the potential of the children, the ease of the sup for them
and moreover, the respect values they can learn towards nature, i would need info to start:

- make an stand up paddle association (non profit)

- sup and children, any experiences... did you write any project... where can i read information?

- include marginalised young people, this is one of my aims...

- suping for school?? sup as a school sport??

basically iam looking for general information, how to start writing the pillar of my project...

thanks very much for your comments

Hey Mike - There are a few Noosa Schools already doing SUP as a sport.

St Andrew's in Peregian Springs and Noosaville. They also do school surfing and surf live saving. Woogie does a coaching day on Fridays for Noosaville for 2 hours with the kids on Noosa Main Beach. He also does a morning session with Noosaville which is just surfing.

A great way to get more kids involved in a water sport. We have done a full write up and have approached a couple of schools which will be jumping on board next year.

Hey Jodie

How much per session or per head do you charge the school kids, and do they need to wear pfd's.

Done by session and leggies are worn - but also depends on where you are doing the coaching. First question can you swim?
What is the arm signal if you get into trouble?

Hey Mikesup,

I am not sure why you need to start up a new organization as all of the SUP clubs are being run for non-profit. We currently have 3 in QLD and are all affiliated to Surfing Queensland. I am not sure where you are but why don't you simply join you nearest SUP club and do this with/for the club?

If you let us know where you are based we can help point you in the right direction.
