This morning was high tide and there are a number of places you can find that break on no swell days
I surfed a nice sucky knee to waist high wave this morning.

There were a couple of SUPs out at Seconds at about 3:30pm. Don't get used to it.

How about Isolateds? I've noticed SUPs encroaching on the mals' territory these days. Do they ever say anything to you?

Why should they?

If you are doing the right thing you have every right to be there. My 9 9 is smaller than most of the mals anyway.

Surfed 2nd carpark for 37 years no knob on a shortboard can tell me I cannot go out there which I do when there are banks

got a couple of nice left handers on the outer reefs up this way surprisingly today for no swell.
Water was crystal clear and had a great paddle over the reef where there is usually too much swell.
Few whales coming through at the moment too which is always good to see

I'm not saying they should or shouldn't. I'm just curious if anything is said given the animosity towards SUPs.

Animosity towards SUPs? Ive never had a problem with other surfers while Im on my SUP board.
Its all about smiling, sharing and having fun.
The surfers at my local know Im there to stay

That's what I'm curious about, if (any of) you've experienced it yet. I'm not surprised it's not a big deal in WA yet. I'm also not surprised it is a big deal in e.g. California. I'm curious about east coast Oz, not sure either way. Obviously certain breaks are going to have more conflict than others.

I think its got Alot to do with the ability, understanding and background of the person SUP surfing.

Old news this, been sup surfing for about 3 years up and down wa coast no real grief even at jakes. Bit of stink eye but that is mainly from knobs surfing tiny close outs at trigg.

Most guys at real waves are stoked if you are going for it.

nothing better than seeing the guy on the stand up goatboat getting vaporized
