Just reviewing our house and contents insurance (windsurf gear cover) and nead to include kites and SUP gear.
Who has cover and who with ?
stolen from home
stolen from vehicle (inside and roof racks)
stolen from vehicle away from home

I added them to my house insurance as a specified item, costs about $10 per month per board.
Covered for everything except damage when in use.........I am sometimes tempted to not even lock to the roof, when I am parked for a while but I figured they might arc up about that.

Called to check some of the finer detail with NRMA contents and as a portable specified item it's insured if stolen from the home, from the roof of the car when away from home and they don't require you to have board locks either.
