Recently had one of my go pro videos deleted from YouTube due to copyright infringement on the music. Anyone know a way around this? Luckily I do a bit of music production so I can bang out an original pretty quickly but it's a pain to upload a video only to have it denied.

The tracks aren't free I've supported the artist by buying their track. I'm not using their work for commercial gain. Just want to have a banging track on a clip for my friends.

I have posted a few vids on SB. Only one was affected. I bought the song on iTunes, all good. Posted vid, all good. About 6 months later the song was taken off and I got a copyright notice. Didn't go into it, too lazy

Try - jjj unearthed. I believe you can use the music from this site if you credit the artist and jjj
As mentioned Vimeo seems to let this issues go through if it is for personal use.

You didn't actually license the track for re-broadcast when you bought the track. You simply acquired the right to listen to it, not re-upload it. By re-broadcasting it, you are ever so slightly diminishing the value of the composition and the recording by providing it for free for others. You can't argue that it you are uploading it for personal use. If that was the case, you would have password protected the upload and prevented anyone except you from viewing it - that's personal use, when only YOU personally will be using it.

As has been mentioned, you can try Vimeo instead of YouTube, although they are also beginning to use the same screening software.

is the value (of the composition) diminished? surely it's play-time? exposure.
what happens when i'm playing my music & my kids' friends hear it?
can my family play my music collection in my absence?
what about a (small) party?
i'd like to post a vid - share. why not share my vid with my (paid for) music?

the above isn't aimed at pt... it's also not intended to disempower the artist (who gleans a tiny fraction of the "value" mentioned above)
it's a denial of the various statutes i infringe by daring to breathe...
i question the ethic
how dare we!

Google has done a very cool thing in my opinion: when a label recognizes a track, it can have the choice of either blocking it, or just getting all the ad-related income be sent to them instead of the uploader.
This is a very good solution, everybody wins.

Myself, I try to be as "authors friendly" as possible, by crediting the music, and giving a link to other youtube videos of the group. I never had a music track disabled anymore, but had seen sometime the ad revenue sent to them (Note: I dont use ads myself).

For instance the music copyright holders of my uploaded video at
claimed their royalties this way. They even add a link for viewers to purchase it on itunes.

Or you can just add a music directly from Google catalog (the music note icon), like in

If the copyright holder are too dumb to take advantage of this opportunity to make money, just go to vimeo...
