found this link at the C4 site it was a news flash regarding paddlers needing to have pfd and a whistle if outside the surf zone ..could it ever happen here with numbers ever increasing ..look out captain stoobing !

This issue has been covered here but basically it only applies to those brave souls who go out onto the deep blue off shore. there is a new style of inflatable pfd that sits in a hip pouch and takes up no room. A leg rope is essential.
