Any idea what glue to repair lifting deck grip so as to not create problems if need to replace same in future.Only lifting approx 30cmsx10 cms on edge but suspect all may be problem.

I like to use glues that stay flexible: often called "shoe glues". modern ones work wonder.
The old and trusty neoprene or cyanoalte work also.

But the most important part is to cut the edges of your pad at an angle so that water or your body do not tend to catch the edge and lift it:

Also, rolling a bottle on the pad edges to be sure the glue sticks well, plus letting it cure 24h in warm temperatures helps a lot. I have even made myself a special "roller" to apply pads...

Just used magic contact adhesive from mitre 10 a couple of months ago. No drama yet.

The absolute best spray adhesive that I have found and I use it all the time is at Bunnings, 'Sikabond spray adhesive' its high strength and does not let go. Just remember to let the adhesive cure for 5 mins before joining
