had a chance to sup the coolie region today.very different from the alley at the moment. the alley wide bank has been a race down the line for the most part and has been really good on the right tide and swell. rainbow and greenmount have been on the wish list for a while.with the strong southerlies and small swell i went and had a look. some shortboards, lots of mals and some sups, so this was my best chance- not too crowded.it wasn't classic by any means, but the ride is good, lots of cutbacks and reo's on offer.the lineup is the big difference, the alley is more long, where greenie its more about depth.no nodding off here, you have to be aware the whole time, there's crew all round you- paddling out waiting and surfing the waves.the wave its self wasn't hard for today, but it is a challenge on your skills to fit in the lineup.
cheers

Have to admit I have looked at it once or twice on a weekend and thought too busy.
After deciding to go further afield than Currumbin I have had a few good days at Moffats on the Sunshine Coast recently, not too crowded and a nice wave.

i forgot to mention, i saw a guy with a mal and a paddle.he would prone paddle, but at the moment of catching a wave he would get to his knees, use the paddle to get the wave, as he dropped down the face, he would stand up and use the paddle like a sup er. end of wave ,back down to prone and paddle back with paddle under his body. very strange
