this is my first try at building a sup. so I downloaded the aku shaper software and want to print the plans for the sup. how do I print it out on a desk top printer. this is going to be a hollow wood sup. is it going to print out the rib designs with the out line or what.

Hi Curt
I've built about ten hollow wooden boards including three SUPS using AKU shaper. To print convert the AKU shaper files to pdf's using a pdf converter like NovaPDF (free version). If your desk top printer can't print the size, save the files on a memory stick and take it to a copy place to get printed.
Good luck Manny

I usually do the design on aku shaper and then open the file on Board CAD and print the ribs from there. This will give you the the sections including the skin thickness so either allow for it in the design, build it a bit bigger or go to grainsurf and find the program someone made available to allow for the skin thickness. As for the spine, go back to board cad and take note of the distance from the water line to the top & bottom of each rib and then plot it on to the ply. If all this is too hard take the file to a professional printers and let them print it out.
Good luck with the build and save weight where ever you can. Also check out Waterhorses's build on grainsurf (nice board).
