Hey everyone on da breeze & especially Sidney-siders & NSW inhabitants!

I am a New Zealandee "kiwi" ( a type of nocturnal flightless bird ).

I'm coming over for my first ever visit to Ooorstralya to visit my sister & i was hoping to meet up with some like minded paddle-surfers/surfers - catch a few waves ,shoot the breeze & have a good laugh about life, the universe & our respectively silly accents ;-)

Also I'm looking to hassle AA for a new stick just hatched from China & the hawaiian islands ( i will not dare to mention the brand for fear of pimpellatio )

So please, if you are a friendly fulla who likes to ride waves regardless of board type or size answer this post & give me ya phone number so we can meet up & you can show me around - I would be keen to return the favor & show you around Raglan if you ever visit N.Z.

I'm hoping to be tested by some of your NSW waves, as I've heard they can be gnarly.

I am just like a stoked little grommit - but in a 43yr olds body!

Cheers guys, SeanO - glassoff

Can get me a six pack of beer, and some fish & chips

Hope some sydney siders will show you a good time, but if you want some real waves you should head straight for south west Wa or vicco

When are ya comin', Glassy?

It'd be good if you could tie it in with our next Sydney club comp on 11 April 2010.

Hi Brooko - what was that you wanted with yer six-pack? Oh now i get it - you were asking for some fush and chups, geeze you guys talk funny

Howdy Casso, I havn't finalised the details yet but i think I'll be over coming over 26-31 - end of this month. It kinda depends on AA's importation issues 'cos I'm wanting to hook up with a sweet new stick - I'm saying a fond farewell to my 9'10" ripper & lookin to replace it - not sure what with yet but real keen to have a look at some new boards.

Hey Casso I'd really like to meet ya & have a surf with ya - if your too busy, do you know any other peeps who wouldn't mind showing me round. I'll be staying in Maverick, Sydney with my sister & I think i can beg/borrow her car for a couple of days.

Thanks Goatie, much appreciated, it will make all the difference to my trip to make some new friends & see some new places.

I still haven't booked the ticket, but it will be end of this month or early April - Casso suggests I come over around the 11th of April so i can come along to the Sydney club-comp. That's not a bad plan & it ties in well with the timing of AA's new delivery of babies.

Yeah, um well, sorry about the lack of geographical knowledge of Sydney suburbs, ( keep in mind I've never travelled across the ditch before ) maybe I've heard OOrstralyins say what you guys would think sounds like Marrickville - but translated into New Zealandese that can easily become Maverick

Here i am typing away with my foot in a HOT bucket of water - turns out there were quite a few more urchin spines in my foot than I'd thought & now after a pretty average windy dawny on my 6'2" they are trying to fester & get infected .... Think I may have to prick the entry holes open with a neeedle an put on a poultice with some Magnesium sulphate paste.

In between being house-dad & going surfing I've got to get cranking on my 24ft recycled/bamboo SUP - only two days to go till the big raft-race!

Ahhh Marrickville, not too close to the surf, but if you can get hold of a car you'll be right - no traffic at 5.30am - its about 35mins to the Northern beaches at that time of the day from there.

5.30am - no worries - They do call me Sean-of-the-dawn, besides that will be like a sleep-in for me on N.Z. time.

So Goatie/ Casso which surfboard do you think I should bring over - my gunny 6'6" or my 6'2". What sort of surfing am I likely to encounter ( conditions / setups ) ? As I said I'm keen for some waves that will challenge me & I've heard there are some solid waves over there - is it possible to snag some waves without too many crowd issues ?

hey glass off
you would likely only need your shortboard in sydney as we get a heap of beaches and some good reefs, but that time of year you can get lucky and it will jump up in size but even then you can still get away with a shortie.
Me casso and goatie often surf together but sup only so you will have to steel a demo board of someone and leave ya short board at home and pray some of our reefs turn on. Like casso said our club comp is super fun.
