Havent been to the Maldives but my wife and I are definately going to go after reading the article in the last Australian Paddlesurfer mag. We were looking at Tropicsurf.net but doing the boat thing. Might be a starting point for you and if you do a search through the older posts theres a bit on SUPing in the Maldives.

Spent a week at Kandooma this time last year www.kandoomamaldives.com/

4 -5 star resort. Was a quailty place and food was excellent.

Good right hander and never too busy as the resort mainly caters for euro tourist rather then the surf trade,

Few other breaks near by can be accessed by boat but costs a bit to hire a boat.

Followed with a week on the typical yacht charter in the northern atols which were typically overrun with crazy Israelis dropping in on eveyone, so the stay on the resort was better.

If you go make sure you pick a villa where the break is outside the villa. If you end up on the other end of the island its a bit of a walk with to carry the SUP and its HOT every day.
