Hi sinjin, There are plenty of people in that range. The Great melbourne Paddle is on this 4 Dec at Green Point. A great opportunity to come and try some boards, meet some paddlers and enjoy a day on the water

From the discussions I have heard with the movers and shakers in the local Sup fraternity, there is going to be an over 55's category established shortly which maybe will be organized for the up coming events prior to Xmas... that's a great initiative
I need a special category for 47 year olds specifically riding a nalu 11'4. Realistically it is my only chance as some of these "veterans" seem to get better with age.
Interesting to see quite a few grommets ripping on SUP up here in Merimbula.
As for the "responsible young (or,even, not quite so young) adults" age group - well, let's just say that Jonathan and I decided it was time to go for a nice sedate meal when we saw the inflatable doll come out. Not sure what was happening with the cocktail blender and the doll.
Must be getting old when you don't want to know these things!
At 38, you could call me a grom?! My 8yo son loves his SUP, but I guess it's only time until one of his buddies gets into SB'ing & he'll cop some sh!t...in the meantime, father & son paddling is great for the old man's pride.
I'm thinking thats a good place to start, maybe could go a little higher.

I reckon this sport should be organised by weight class...like boxing

I must admit I have a good laugh at the correlation of sup and age, but get a little disappointed that the remarks fat and bald are left out, lift your game boys

I am convinced Legion is a bored Indian telemarketer who stumbled upon Seabreeze during his 2 minute lunch break
