Waves on offer:
HT's
This wave is located off Katiet. It has one of the best and hollowest barrels in the world although not always the longest. A sucky face and extremely shallow coral make this a wave with dire consequences.
Macca's
This is the most famous wave in the Mentawais, located at the northern edge of Betumango bay on Pagai Utara. It sits in a sheltered bay and thus needs a solid swell to fire, preferably of the south-southwest variety, but produces a mechanical left that barrels on take off & then provides a long, extremely wackable wall.
Thunders
This is a powerful left-hander which heaves up in open water providing a great wave when everything else is small and can be found off Sibigau Island. A right-hander can also appear if timed right.
Arrik's
Excellent left with workable sections which can handle plenty size
Pussies (Nipussi)
A consistent, welcoming right-hander, which breaks off a second reef east of Bank Vaults. This wave can be fun but don't omit the possibility of getting barreled or held down.
Rifles
Situated off the east edge of Karangmajet Island, this is an extremely long, fast right-hander that bends and can throw out unexpected tubes or shut-downs.
Bank Vaults
A powerful, weighty right hander that works in almost any size, with sets arriving from anywhere when least expected. An extremely quick rise the reef causes the lip to pitch thick and heavy.
Lighthouse Rights
A sick right hander that works best around 2-8ft, best at low tide and west or no wind.
The Hole
Thick, heavy left hand barrel from take-off!
Bintangs
A quality punchy, dredging right located a few hundred yards from Lance's Left. With a sometimes shifting peak it can be a fun wave or a test to your ability. This will all depend on wind and swell direction. The outside bombora, about 100m from the break itself will indicate when a set is approaching. This place can hold big swells and is worth checking out.
Telescopes
Located a couple of miles south of Suicides, off Cape Kinilok on Sipura. This wave wraps left along a curved reef and is one of the most picture perfect waves in the world.
Scarecrows
Although not the most perfect wave in the Islands, it is a beautiful left-hander with sufficient chances to get barreled. The takeoff has to be judged properly as it has a shifting peak and sometimes sections. This wave is positioned off a neighbouring island of Pittojat Island.
Burger World (Koriniki)
Winding off a coral protrusion, this right-hander can delivers a short punchy wave on any tide. It is located off Dodiki Island, a few miles west of E Bay.
E-Bay
This wave pushes up onto a curved reef to create a perfect, fast hollow barrel over 50-100yards.It wraps around the west point of Masolut Island land, off the south tip of Siberut.
Pit Stops
A right-hander just around from E Bay, which breaks over reef and sand.
Icelands
A heavy, inconsistent left that wraps into the western bay of Pototoga Island and rises out of deep water up a steep sloped reef. This causes the wave to pitch in a swift, unpredictable manner.
Rags Right
Although it does not appear everyday, this wave propels a heavy right-hand barrel over a shallow reef. It is a dangerous wave and can be found off the southeast edge of Petojet Sabu.
Rags Left
Sitting opposite Sabojet on the island of Petojet Sabu, this wave projects left-hand barrels that wrap endlessly around the reef on the north side of the island.
Bat Caves
A long breaking righthander, this wave is considered a mellower option than surrounding waves and breaks along the outside of a deserted tropical island. It has an open faced walls for carving and is a fun long wave.
Katiet Beach Breaks
Located in Katiet's western bay at the southern end of Sipura Island. This beautiful bay is lined with white sands around its entire perimeter, creating a spectular and remote beach. Shifting "A" framed peaks move along the shores breaking over sandbanks creating fun waves. Great for any style of surfer these waves are user friendly and offer a break from the typical reef orientated area.
Greenbush
South of Maca's, a very hollow left hand barrel with seemingly no exit. A make it or break it type wave. Avoid the lip and you might be able to negotiate a safe exit off the wave. Advanced surfers need only apply here.
No Kanduis
Although a wave of various moods, when it's on this is an ideal left-hander with breathtaking barrels.
Chubbies
This wave wraps around the island of Penanggalan and appears much like its name.
4-Bobs
Just across from Chubbies, 4-Bobs is an painless right that tapers into a deep channel giving it a fat, fun and short nature.
Suicides
A well named shallow left-hander over live coral heads. A ride involves a steep takeoff under a shifting peak, followed by entry into the barrel and a short fast drive to a deep channel. It is located around a fringe reef of the northern end of Sipura.
KFC's
Found opposite to Macaroni's, this wave wraps into a curved section of reef on the west side of this sheltered bay.
Lance's Left
Found at the edge of Katiet's western bay, this left-hander is a consistent and frequently surfed crowd-pleaser, with the ability to hold big swells and offers barrelling tube sections.

hahah, imagine seeing a boat full of SUP's turn up at HT's maccas, telescopes or any of the other breaks around that area. (seriously, surfing on the gold coast is less crowded)

8 of us going on the Mangalui next week, 6 out of the 8 are SUP's, so will be interesting.. I would prefer uncrowded average waves than jammed HT's any day.
Fingers crossed for swell which spreads the crowds out

Well you don't need to pay 300 a night to get average waves. I went with shortboards, was a fun trip got some good waves but the crowds were pretty bad. A SUP would have been awesome at lances and a few other spots although normally at least 30 guys out in the lineup.

Hi gareth.
I,m on the mango with you next week. Looks like we'll get the tail end of a solid swell on first day there showing 6-8 foot.
I went last April and most of the time we had the breaks to ourselves.
Just need to stay away from the big name spots.
See ya Tuesday
