Apps & Lummers are red hot at the moment and don't forget Casso.

I agree on that heat and if they were all surfing well enough to get past Keahi, Woogie, Apps and Casso in the semis you know it'd be a cracker final to watch.

Isn't surfing such a subjective thing? Your preferred style or favourite surfer will always be different to someone elses. There is no right or wrong.

No offence to other Sup competitors at all Lacey. But I'll be doing my best to fulfill my dream by taking the bloody thing out.

And hate to shatter your dream but billy pulled out of the Aussies ( I mentioned that in the Nsw movie forum) and has been replaced by Tully. Woogie won't b the event.

I think everyone is a threat for the Aussies cause last yr a guy who doesn't even ride em was pulling airs n he rides a longboard.

Great topic Lacey! As you said at the start those are your favourites to watch, not necessarily who you think will win.

Here's mt 2 c: I reckon , as with ALL comps, it will come down to 2 things - who gets the best waves and combines it with a 'go hard' attitude.

I reckon of the guys I know, the possible people who could win it (in no particular order) are Jackson, Dogman, Lummers, Appsy, Noel, Casso, Keahi, Tully and the other 2 or 3 other QLDers (Sorry I don't know the full team). No offence to the other states as I don't know many guys from VIC, WA or SA apart from Lummers.

I reckon Jackson will be the guy most likely to win because he is (from what I saw at the Roar) the guy most likely to catch the good set waves. He has an excellent ability to read the waves and can out paddle everyone on the big floaty McT that he rides. At the roar he sat 10 meters further out than everyone else. I tried to sit inside him in the semi, but he would do a turn before ya even got into it. Billy tried the same in the final with the same result. He also moves the board around a lot on a wave and even though a lot of the turns are pivoting on the tail and not carving like Dogman, it still looks good from the beach and scores well.

Lummers will be a massive threat and only needs to get the waves and I would say the same about Keahi, Dogman, Noel and Appsy. Keahi has an amazing ability to catch good waves and can make something out of a nothing wave. Appsy is light and rides a very small manouervable board, he is a top shortboard competitor and when he gets the best waves in a heat is nearly impossible to beat. Noel is just a freak and once again needs the best waves.

Dogman is a real darkhorse though, don't be fooled by the casual demeanor, this guy is a fierce competitor who has the surfing skill to back it up. Of all those mentioned, he carves the best IMO and has a good contest head.

I would love to see Casso have a good run cause when he has the self belief, can beat anyone on the day. Tully has to be a chance as well.

Shame Billy and Woogie aren't in it! Is Jacko competing? he would be another massive threat from QLD. Then of course their is Kieran, who can do 10 tight arc manoeuvres where other guys do 5, but I heard he is out of the country and besides missed the qualifier.

All good fun, be interesting to see how it pans out - the surf as always will play a major part.

I have to say after watching Kieran at Mambo he blew me away, he pulled some of the tightest turns I have ever seen. The great thing is we have some serious talent that brings great credibility to the sport.

I would also love to see an oldschool logging version SUP comp where you need to nose ride, big drawn out arks judged on grace and style. Even if it was done as an expression session watching LSD and Lummers etc toes over mach five down the line would be a great change of pace.

I think the womens division will be hotly contested as well. The girls might just surprise a few people. My final suggestion will be Sondra, Davina, Cinde, Angie.

Its a great venue someone please take a vid so we can all get to see the action.

A friend of mine knows a dude who said that Bingo Cheers is actually the result of a gene splicing experiment. Apparently the experiment is a collaboration between the CIA, FBI, Al Queda and the Tugun Bowls club.

They reckon in this experiment they have taken the genes of Michael Peterson, Mick Fanning and Ricky Martin and infused them in a protein drink shaker and used very small sticky stringer tape pieces to attach it to a regular persons gene strands. Like the Million dollar man Steve Austin on that show from the 80's.

The results have been staggering, reports from the secret Tallebudgera Creek mouth testing facility are extremely promising. Surfing that looks like it is from 2030 was the call. They said he looks like he's surfing and dancing at the same time.

I can't wait for the movie. The Search for Bingo Cheers will make Dolly the sheep look so 2009.

I do have to correct you there Chriso. From a very reliable source, Bingo cheers is in fact a DNA run off of a pair of stubby shorts, a XXXX full strength stubby and a part of the root system of a She Oak. (Although the size of his legs proves he's not) not sure what his old man "Ringo Cheers" would have to say about that. Thanks Mum for the investigation!

He does exist, well, I think so as the white VW van that was racing me the other day though Tallebudgera sure did look like him!

dont really care who is in it and even if i dont make it due to lack of judge bribery

i was talkin to woody and kieren about the nsw titles 2 weeks before the comp and was quietly STOKED that keiren couldnt make it as he is in dubai and that woody hadnt riden a sup since he destroyed us all at the last honolua comp

woody did say that he had just finished a new sup for kizza and was very tempted to take it out for a hit

If Tassie dont have a goer i would be quite happy tp represent as im an old Taswegian from way back.I wouldnt make it out of the first heat , but i bet i could win the drinking contest after.
