I purchased my first SUP, a fanatic 10.6 fly with a naish carbon paddle, less then two months ago. I have had water getting in to the paddle, thought it was where I had glued the handle but I pulled the tape I had on the blade & found a 3cm crack on the top of the blade where it connects to the shaft. The paddle has not been dropped or bashed, mainly flat water but plenty of paddling. Dont know if this a one off but not happy with life of the paddle, bough what I thought was the best paddle. Taking it back hope it is covered by warranty.

Sorry, but it never ceases to amaze me how people get on this and other forums and tell people about problems/faults with boards/paddles/legropes etc and ask for advice and feedback BEFORE making contact with their relevant retailer/importer or whomever they bought the product from. Possibly many people that do this have the best intentions but in my opinion all it does is cast sometimes quite unnecessary shadows over otherwise very good products that may have had some very small glich in production or whatever and can be very effectively and swiftly dealt with by the appropriate people. If I was writing warranties for surf/paddle or whatever products I would be putting a clause in that stated that any public airing of a complaint/problem with a product prior to contact being made with the retailer of manafacturer would immediately void any claim for warranty.
If you have a valid claim and don't get good results then take it up with your relevant consumer protection people and if you still don't get any joy - then slam the product all you like.
Flame suit on - but don't really care - it's just my opinion.

is the 3cm crack on the front or back "face" ie tension or compression?
