Get a can of SURE TRED for $13 from bunnings and spray it over the whole deck grip, it works a treat.

New boards with new grip can often be a little greasy and slippery untill the UV starts attacking it and it then seems to get a bit rougher and more grippy.

the psh grip is the same initially..........I found throwing some sand on it and scuffing up the pad a bit with the sand helped to get rid of the waxy feeling. Mine actually had water beading on it the first time I took it out!
