Just wondering if it is a problem the vent hole being covered? I got a 10'6 and the vent hole was covered by the grip.

No problem... That's a common thing to do... I've seen demo boards that are done like that and after years they're fine.

Just keep it out of extreme heat and extreme cold.. oh yeah.. and flying on airplanes..

Welcome to the forum Damien..

The Container was supposed to be here yesterday, but it turns out it had some cobra mud on it, and had to have a bath by quarantine. Hoping it will be here tomorrow.

As for the breather vents. You can pretty much leave the bolt in 99.9% of the time. But if you are leaving your board inside your can and it is not ventilated, I recommend loosening it. you board will handle up to about 35-40 degrees with out any issues. But cans can get up to about 75-80 degrees in the sun. I leave my board on the roof of my van year round and never undo the vent bolt.

BUT REMEBER, if you undo your vent, make sure you do it back up before putting your board in the water!!!!!!
