had a run today, pretty good conditions. i was too late to hook up with the crew, so i headed out from north kirra for a solo
i picked a line i wanted to head out, but i couldn't hold the board to the line. i couldn't hold the big volume nose, it was going to go with the wind and swell and that was it.
the actual run was insane. the board runs super goodly

. took off like an unregistered dog in sections. i was positioned about a foot back from the handle at least and got back a lot further for some the multi runners. i fell of once getting a bit cocky, but its very comfortable and even at hi speed on your 3rd or 4th multi runner in a row. steering or turning could be better, but the balance and the centreing is unreal
the downside was getting in the alley, again the big volume displacement nose didn't want to know about it so i had some drama there, although to be fair, the other guys said it wasn't a piece of cake either.now if i was heading into burleigh i don't think it would be a problem with it soft entry angle to get in
i'm going to try a different fin next time, i feel the fin that comes with it is too tight.
my favorite dw fin is a shapers 'axe' fin so i'm hoping to get some turning and handling power out of that.
- a really really good dw board and the general thinking around the traps here is 14' is the go for good dwer's, however if the wind and swell aren't behind you all that's good about the fanatic 14' can go against you imo.
to some up, for me, one of the most enjoyable and consistent dw runs in memory and as good as conditions were, the fanatic 14' has to be credited
