Hello - I currently ride a 10'6" by 32" Laird surfer and have taken the centre fin out and use it as a quad. Goes brilliantly at my local point break - knee to head high waves with a mellow takeoff linked by faster sections, even a half barrel as the tide drops.

The board does not work real well (for me) in suckier faster beach breaks. SO TODAY I am driving to Byron Bay and Guy from Surf FX is coming down to drop off my new 8'8" Sunova Speeed YAHOO

Have dropped 4 kilos and putting in an effort to get fitter, so hopefully I will be out at the local beach break shortly making a few steeper drops - might even have a surf at Byron in the middle of the day - could be uncrowded -- munchies still about?

Will let you know how it goes after a few surfs!
