I think it's great for the sport to see growth in this direction, it's only going to improve competition and push everyone further.
It was always a matter of time until other paddlers started to pick up SUP as well, and with more and more stand alone SUP events, especially BOP style races, people won't be stuck for choice of what craft to paddle in races.
I reckon it's going to make for some really exciting races in the next year and I can't wait.

Interesting Lacey, I would agree. It is a varied cross training for other paddlers....

The main problem with SUP racing is probably transporting boards. But, that is also a benefit of production boards.... You can often beg-borrow-or-steal a production board that you are comfortable with....

I know my 17' Glide will always be like a brother to me... Which means I have lots of brothers !!

So... can I beg, borrow or steal you're 17 Glide for the vicco titles race on Saturday?

You can certainly have the 14 Glide !! No sweat! But the 17 is mine! But, at a stretch, I could loan the 17 out to a "seriously elite competitor" for a small share of the winnings !! (I'm not seriously elite... but the 14 will be available for you).

I'm pretty sure you're comfortable with the 14, from Hawaii ??!!
