Hey BP

Any big auto accessories shop should sell clear bonnet/guard/door protector strips. It's usually about 30cm wide so cut it in half length ways.

Usually applied by putting diluted dishwashing liquid on the rail, sliding the strip into place, smoothing out the liquid and it then sticks like the proverbial!

Hi Paul

Carefull with the tape you stick to the rails. I did this on my first 2 boards and thought it was a good idea. When you need to remove it it rips off the gel coat much more then a paddle strike will. I found after a while you don't tend to strike the board often. If you do I would prefer a gaurd on the paddle blade. This can be rubber or tape. If you do distance paddles it may add some drag but if you just surf it is not a bother.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Yeah I used a "U" shaped black rubber I got from Clarke Rubber which I think is a fridge seal. It works great but
recently got a Kialoa that I want to keep looking pretty.

Windy Miller has the clear adhesive one and I want it but I can't seam to find it. I rekon this is the same stuff you
are looking for. If you find it let us know.

Mate you don't need it-just do 2 or 3 wraps of electrical tape along the blade edge and some gaffa tape (colour match) on your rails.

Thanks for the tips guys, But i want to protect my investment as much as poss.

So im looking at tape for the board rail, And the stick on rubber for the blade of the paddle.

I have some board rail tape in the package from AA for the board so just need the paddle blade job.

I was going to use electrical tape but i prefer the extra of the rubber.

Cheers
