On the Saturday we went to sup the inside of Tweed bar and the tide was wrong , so we checked out Snapper , the surf was breaking almost 90 degress to the beach an there was a massive gutter sucking out to sea , so I convinced Brett we could get out on the Sups. We dropped car at second groin Kirra and drove back to Snapper once were through the shorebreak I stood up with the 30 knot wind on my back and current under my feet and paddled straight out without getting my hair wet. When we both got clear of the sets we turned and headed towards Kirra and drifted through the impact zone , it was really hard to catch a wave as the wind kept blowing us off , but eventually we got one each mine shut own but Brett got a 10ft monster to the beach apx 150m.
That was it a one wave surf , the foam in the shore break was horrible it was like sucking in fish farts....yuk I can still taste it, the walk back against the wind with the sups was murder it but it was worth at least we had 10 ft Kirra to ourselves.
