I've been lucky enough to have a few surfing spots more or self to myself over the past months, I went out today and had a great session in two foot less than ideal conditions 10knott S/W (cross shore, with bumpy lines), and after went to a cosy spot with clean 1 ft. Lately a bit of a dilemma is starting to form within me..... should I just get to the best spot and wait or just go for whatever will work for where I am at the time. It seems whenever I go for anything I often do quite well, however when I sit there in the good spot, I'll over think the situation and about 50% of the time I'll get something wrong.
What do you guys/gals do? look for the quality wave, or is it a numbers game?
I'm no expert about all this but when I used to prone surf I'd wait and wait for the good waves..because it's a long hard paddle back out (for me).
But sup'ing I pretty much catch the first wave that comes along and just keep going in and out non stop..

..maybe pick the best wave in a set.
