Hi guys I have been paddling for a couple of years now and only recently really started to enjoy riding small waves. I was wondering if any of you have some recommendations for me where in sydney i might find a nice small rolling wave to play on and have some fun. Thanks in advance for any help.

Just out from Shelly beach is an area that usually has small waves that are fun to learn on.

....also one of the heaviest waves in Sydney on its day with a rocky unpredictable bottom and heavily localised!
So you do need to know your swell and tides to get it right. Get it right and it is well worth whilst but the bottom is rocky.
Most wide sandy beaches with a sandy bottom such as Freshie and Long Reef will give you more chance of scoring.

Sydney gets a lot of swell from all directions. I would check your local SUP shop if you are unsure.
They know their local beaches and where it will be safe on any given day! Cheers - AA
