far in the Aussie u 18 hockey championships. My son has played very well and I'm on my third and last stubby at a beautiful open air bar with food called 5 Sawyers surrounded by gorgeous girls with which I have no chance...... yep nice

Good to here the hockey going well you played WA yet ? All ways was a good battle back in my day (the bullie and off side )

To me WA is the dark Horse, excellent skills and teamwork. NSW AND QLD are full of really talented guys as well but seem to aproach the game in an individual manner. Unless the VIC boys start playing as a team they're going to end up fourth. Unfortunately there are number of players that haven't heard there is no I in team and couple of others that were selected because of family connections. Not my son I can't hit the ball to save my life. Like most sports sometimes it's who yoj know not what you know! At least I get a surfing
holiday and I hope my son enjoys himself and learns from the experience. As they get older you get kids selected for ability and this is the age group where it starts. Bullie, off side? They got dropped after the 56 Olympics!

What do you call a decent wave?
My definition is any wave I have fun on.
I suspect "decent" to most is refering to size, unfortunately any size wave could be crap, so therefore may not be decent.
In regard to what size waves people excell in has nothing to do with their size only their ability and mental attitude.
just my opinion of course.

Hi Mick, all I can say is why did you move? I got smashed at Stockton for about 2 hours yesterday. A huge sweep, lumps, ,bumps and backwash sucking over about 2 foot of water. The wind as well made it a very trying day, but the four or five waves I caught were reminiscent of dickies beach on the sunshine coast or a little like dbah on the goldie. Not exactly ideal for an Allwave. This morning I went for more punishment with Peter Cox. I must have fallen off a million times and he must think I'm a complete kook. As soon as he left I caught five or six really lovely waves. I was that upset I went looking for another wave and just got out from Newcastle main beach centre reef I expect. Much, much better. No sweep long left handers and I got a lovely little cover, even yesterday I got into a huge tunnel but had no chance of making it out. I forgot that nsw and qld the power is in the lip and in vicco its in the base. I bought some new fins for the trip and they are excellent for turning but I'm having an awful time maintaining my balance out the back. I've also developed a habit of padding on my right side, it must be some perverse psychological impediment. Hopefully I'll straighten out these habits ASAP. They're costing me waves and making me look like a kook ( more than normal) This session at Dixons has definitely helped. I'm going to ring Sharpie and Towny tonight about some out of town alternatives. Apparently there is a comp on as well this weekend. I'll get along to that and embarrass myself even further. I'm loving the hollowness of the waves. Merewether looks unreal but not too Sup friendly. I'll give you more reports as I go along. Where are some places I should go muscles? pm me if you don't want to give away secrets cheers Leroy :)
