even though the 8'8 is mine. go the 9' out of the two by your specs. not much paddle luxury at your weight on the 8'8. it's thinned tailed, finer railed board
cheers

I am 74 kilo, started on a JL Mano 904 about 9 months ago. Bought a 9 0 Mano three months ago.
Difference in paddle power and balance between the two was not great, but likewise was hoping the 9 0 would feel a lot smaller and looser to ride than it did. But now if I get back on the 904 it does feels like a bit of a ship??!!
Tried a few other boards but have not found anything better as production boards so having a custom done now which is a bit, actual quite a lot experimental.
At my weight the 9 0 is feeling a bit big, but at 80 + kilo I think it would be about perfect. My recommendation if you enjoy the 904 you will definitely have fun on the 9 0 You are in WA just borrow Court’s demo

I'd go the 8'8" DC or Naish 8'10" even if you can find one.

I'm 82kgs and have been riding an 8'3" x 29 1/2" x 4" and its fine. It's a home made job
but I know it's around 105L to 110L which is similar to both the 88DC and Naish 8'10".

I went from a 9'6" Oxbow to the custom 8'3" with no problems.

I am between 80 and 82kg I have ridden the 9'4 JL, the 9'0Jl and bought the 8'10 Naish,Took me a little time to get used to it but now I am totally Stoked. I to went back to the 9'4 Jl the other day and it felt huge. Most of the guys I am surfing with are on the 9'9, 9'4 or 9'0 Jimmy, If you can get a ride on the 9' Jimmy or the 810 Naish go for it they are both great Boards. The tail is a bit wider on the JL so IMO it is just a little bit easier to stand on if its a little bumpy but the finer tail on the Naish works much better as soon as the waves have a bit of punch!! Try them both if you can..Both to quility Boards...
