My GF bought a Naish Mana 9'5 from 2012
The specs say:
Size: 9'5" x 31" x 4 3/4" Vol: 190L
I found this in the official Naish 2012 catalogue online:
http://www.naishsurfing.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/FullNaishSUP_Catalog.pdf

I remember the 2013 model featuring the same specs.
Now the Mana 9'5" 2014 specs say:
Size: 9'5" x 32" x 4 3/4" Vol: 163L

How is this possible?
I have actually bought a second Naish board (Nalu 10'10) bases on the 2012-2013 volume spec of 190L
I wanted something similar in volume and got the Nalu (which is too big stable for me)

What gives?

I was paddling my new 2014 9'5" Mana today and noticing how much less.floaty is is compared to the old 9'5"... It's got thinner rails and are better for surfing .. It's noticeably thinner through the nose and tail.. and the nose is more pointy..

I've recently got the 2014 GS. Could be just imagination - but I think new one is a bit quicker

OK thinner rails and nose and tail and all you want, (the 2014 model is even 32" wide vs 31" in 2013)
but how can you shave off 27L ?!?
I have the impression the < 2014 Mana 9'5 was NEVER 190L in the first place.......

Ok, so riddle me this. According to the Naish website the 2014 Mana 8'5 has 132 litre volume and the 8'10 has 133 litre volume. Thinner board?

Genius! At last someone has realised that just because you want a bit more surface area you don't necessarily want more volume.

I find it hard to grasp the concept that DJ's opinion might in any way be important (he might be colour blind)

Hey DJ just minor clarification that was the women's specific Alana 9'5 you demo'd not the Mana 9'5 which is yellow.... although they have identical specs so it's hard to see the difference. Naish marketing speal does say the Alana is designed specifically for women... Maybe that just means the colour and livery ;)

That pretty blue and white (and pink) board is mine.. Yes I bought a girlie board.. When I decided to buy a new 9'5" Mana they had sold out of the manly yellow and white boards so I bought the Alana.. Oh yeah.. That's right it's for my daughter.. I like it.. btw.. It's the same shape.. just a different colour.

So what is the volume of a Mana 9'5? I bought mine thinking it was 190L?

It looks good DJ as I said the only variance from the Mana is colour and graphics.
